NEW TRACK PICTURES COMING SOON...
Our tracks are located at the San Jose County Fairgrounds, and the secure facilities are actually on the infield of the legendary San Jose Mile dirt track, which was one of the most famous and popular flat track courses in the country.
According to noted Motorcycle historian Larry Lawrence, “Back in the day this track was home to famous flat track racers like Kenny Roberts, Joe Leonard, Mert Lawill, Jim Rice, Doug Chandler, Ricky Graham Bubba Shobert and nearly a century’s worth of flat track heroes. The San Jose Mile hosted its first national race in 1915 and by the 1950s it had become one of the iconic tracks on the AMA Grand National Championship calendar”.
The final AMA Grand National on the San Jose Mile was held on April 25, 1993 with Scott Parker taking the victory. Today, the famous mile flat track is gone, and the only remnants of the flat track are the banked and grassy turn three, overhead lighting and some assorted pieces of rusty guardrail.
The motocross track, which exists on what was the infield of this famous track, has been in existence since the early 2000s.
The current track is mostly flat with a “traditional fairgrounds” layout of tight turns & tabletops.
The layout is safe, with a very good flow for both novice and pro riders alike. The jumps are challenging for everyone, but with a nod to safety as well. Almost all of the jumps have ½ landings for those who can’t quite get over the whole leap, but don’t want a harsh landing.
The soil is loamy and deep when groomed, but can get pretty hard packed after a long day of riding. Usually numerous lines and deep ruts will appear in turns, which is rare for tracks in Nor Cal. We aim to be one of the best prepped and most consistent tracks in the state, and we are proud of our reputation.
In addition to the MX track, there are two other tracks at the facility.
Beginner / mini bike track
We have a beginners / mini bike track, which is ideal for the young kids and riders who are new to the sport. This track is a great place for people to hone their basic riding skills of turning in the dirt (including those of us with wives/girlfriends who want to try it out). The track is safe and low speed, and also has some small jumps. We encourage and are very supportive of new riders, so come on out, even if you have never been on a track before!
We love our sport, and thus, we LOVE new riders who have an interest in getting involved and trying out our sport. Our professional staff is always willing to lend a hand to new riders and families of new riders and in order to help make sure your experience is rewarding and fun.
From time to time, we have beginner specials and first time rider schools, so please do not hesitate to contact us for more details and to learn how you can get involved with our sport.
Flat track
Keeping with the flat track tradition, there is a also an oval shaped TT course which is currently running on Tuesdays and open to all flat track motorcycles. This is ideal for anyone who is into dirt track and oval track racing. Knobby tires are not a good idea on this track.

408MX is also the official home for the Jeff Pestana MX Clinic. Pestana is a Professional Motocross Racer who is known for teaching up and coming racers, as well as first time riders. For information on his school and schedule of dates, please click here.
We also embrace street riders who are interested in trying out dirt bikes and improving their skills on the pavement, and strongly encourage building your road skills by using our facilities.
Lastly, the track is available for special Group rentals and parties, and other special events. Don’t hesitate to contact us in order to reserve your private track day for you and your friends. Rates vary, but depending on what you are looking for, we can be accommodating.
